accomModations & Amenities

A specially-built wooden bungalow serves as the volunteer headquarters for the Center.

The accommodations are dorm-style rooms. There are separate rooms for girls and guys (mixed rooms are generally possible for families and couples by arrangement). Each room has about 1-11 beds.

There are two showers and two regular flushing toilets.

The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots, pans and gas burner.

Just as well, there are comfortable hammocks to relax in during your mid-day siesta or on those quiet jungle nights.

Electricity:

There is public electricity

Output is at 110 volts, 60 cycles. If you travel to Ecuador with a device that does not accept 127 volts at 60 hertz, you will need a voltage converter.

Water:

We have running water directly from a nearby spring, which is very clean and drinkable.

Laundry:

You may wash your clothes by hand at the Center. Alternatively, you can take it to a laundry place in Puyo during the weekend for a small fee, charged per pound of clothes (apx $1).

The internet and phone service is a one hour bus ride away, in Puyo!

It sounds like a lot, but when you’re surrounded by nature, animals, and good people, you really don’t miss the internet! And you can enjoy the time without constant accessibility.

If you want to be reached in the jungle, we recommend you to buy an Ecuadorian SIM card from "Claro". Only the network of this mobile operator is available here.
